At Dirt Road Photography, we specialize in capturing photos of your senior year. We like to take the time to enjoy the sunsets on one of our farms near Wilber, Nebraska and take pictures of you doing what you love best. Sometimes that includes football, volleyball or other sports. Sometimes it includes your band or music career. Whatever it is that sets you apart, we’re ready to highlight it and celebrate your last year of high school.

Pre-Session Consultation

Location, Clothing Styles & Getting To Know Each Other!

This is the best time to tell me exactly what you want with your session! Start thinking ahead of time what your ideal location and style is. Once you've got a location start looking at clothing inspiration. Always keep in mind that layers work awesome to switch up your look quickly without wasting time changing full outfits. A week or so before we'll follow up with discussing clothing options and have you send me images of what you've selected to ensure we're on the same page with everything. I'll keep an eye on the weather as well to make sure we have beautiful skies and perfect sunsets.

session shooting day

We'll guide you through posing so just relax and have fun!

It's shooting day! Just relax and be ready to have fun! I will give you tons of ideas and direction throughout your session so no prior modeling needed. ;) I find that the best photos are the candid ones that happen between the posed ones, we'll make sure you're comfortable and relaxed, even if it means me making fun of myself. If there is something specific you want, make sure you let me know ahead of time so we can arrange it. Parents are of course welcome and are actually encouraged to help you feel more comfortable and we want them to feel included in the process as well!

Viewing & Ordering

Review all of your photos and choose your fav products!

Your viewing and ordering session typically takes place 1-2 weeks after your session and is held at our home located in Wilber, Nebraska. During your ordering session you will view all of your edited and re-touched images as well as the different prints and products that we can create with your images. I will help walk you through the process and collections as well as give you descriptions of products and suggest what fits best for your session style. Senior Yearbook Archive

“Kelsey took the Best Senior pictures of my son!! All of our pictures, photo album and canvas turned out perfect!! So excited to share with family and friends on Graduation day!” - KELLY S.

“Was happy with the pictures taken of our daughter for her senior year. She was willing to drive to Fairbury to capture this special time and then had the joy of getting another last minute session early fall up in Crete! As we planned for ordering products, putting together the book with senior pictures, we visited about making a book from an old CD of images I had, of our old family farm before it was sold and the buildings torn down. She was able to do this and ended up being a breath-taking, speechless response when this book/gift was given to my Dad on Father's day! Kelsey, thank you for capturing so many memories this last year of special times in our family's life, from young to old, you touched it all!” - KRYSTAL S.

"Kelsey has been our photographer for both of our youngest boys' Senior pics. I wish she could have done our oldest son's...but she would have been, like...2 years old then. Even so - I'm pretty sure she could have toddled through and been just as amazing at it as she is now! Hahah. She has a gift that must be shared. Kelsey has given everything and then gone the extra mile to give even more. I don't know what we would have done without her!" - SOFIA B.

“My boys are always comfortable with Kelsey and is shows in the photos she has taken of them! She shows a true interest in the individual during the session.” - ANGIE A.

“Awesome to work with. Always takes the time to get the perfect picture. Even if it’s freezing cold always has a smile on her face and plenty of patients to deal with a senior that wants to get the perfect shot. Great job though love our pictures!” - GINA S.

Does my session include prints/products or digital images?

We do not give my clients raw / unedited images simply because its not a true representation of our work. We spend a great deal of time during the editing process to ensure you receive the highest quality images which includes high resolution carefully edited photos.

do you give out "raw" files?

After your session our typical turn-around time is 1-2 weeks for the editing process when we then schedule your viewing session. Your prints and products will take 2-3 weeks to get in once the final payment has been made on all products and the contract is signed.

In order to reserve a date with Dirt Road Photography, your deposit is due up front as a retainer along with the signed contract. The rest of the session fee is due the day of your session. i'm ready to book with drp! What's next?!

Of course! Your senior session with Dirt Road Photography includes photos with whoever is important to you! This can be your boyfriend/girlfriend, best friend, parent, sibling or even a pet! They are more than welcome to join us for the last 30 minutes of your senior session. Since we have an ordering appointment after the session you're not locked into purchasing any of those additional files but please remember digital images are not included in your session fee.

In order to have a timely turn around we'd prefer that, but we're not locking you into any decisions you aren't comfortable making.

Does my session include prints/products or digital images?

Senior sessions are held on week nights. Newborns are scheduled during the day (typically around 10 am) and must be within the first ten days after baby is born. All other sessions can be scheduled as our calendar allows. Please note we highly recommend booking at minimum a month in advance for your session as we do fill up fairly quickly.

When should I schedule my photo session?

Just bring yourself! We our course love when you decide to include props but they aren't necessary. If you're doing portraits of your babies, we have a huge closet of outfits as well as buckets, bins and baskets you're welcome to use from our stash. That's what we get them for! We also love to encourage families to think of incorporating anything that has sentimental value to your crew, if that means bringing along grandpa's antique tractor or maybe a vintage car, please do! Make sure to coordinate ahead of time to ensure we make everything run smooth the day of with props.

Do I need to bring anything to our session?

We generally shoot at least 10 times the amount of photos delivered for your session in order to make sure that we end up with great photos! For your final gallery, I’ll shoot *at least* 400 frames and then narrow them down later. This way, you can be sure you don’t end up with blurry shots, or photos in which everyone’s eyes are closed! Trust me, you'd be overwhelmed seeing all of the images, the culling process is hard friends! ;)

Do you edit and touch up all images?

Hair and makeup is not included in the senior session fee, but it is highly recommended. Upon booking, you will receive an informational email with everything you need to know about your senior experience, including hair and makeup artist recommendations to meet all style and budget needs. We also include an in depth look at how to get styled to look your best and encourage you to dive into planning some fabulous looking outfits together!

A few weeks before your session you will also receive an senior questionnaire that will help me learn more about you and your vision for your senior portrait session. From there, I will work to find custom senior locations for your session around the Wilber area. We will lock in 2-3 close locations and meet on-location at the first destination to begin your senior experience!
