There are senior sessions that are beautiful, and then there are senior sessions that feel extra meaningful. Lexi’s senior pictures near Geneva, Nebraska were absolutely one of those for me.
Lexi is a senior at Fillmore Central High School in Geneva, NE, and getting to photograph her senior pictures at her family farm near Hebron and Milligan made this session even more meaningful. I’ve known her since she was little and watching her grow up has been so much fun. Getting to photograph her senior portraits wasn’t just another session. It felt like a full-circle moment. Watching her grow up and then getting to capture this exciting season of her life was truly something special.
When Lexi and her family invited me out to their farm near Milligan, Nebraska, I knew right away these senior photos were going to be amazing. We didn’t just take pictures. We told her story.
From open pastures and cattle in the background to barns, fields, and beautiful country scenery, every location we used reflected who Lexi really is. These weren’t just “pretty senior photos.” They were authentic Nebraska senior pictures that showcased her passions and her roots.
One of my favorite things about photographing seniors in small-town Nebraska is getting to use real, meaningful locations. Lexi’s session took us all over the area, including her family farm near Milligan a beautiful wide open pasture near Hebron and even some fun country roads outside of the Geneva area!
Each spot added something different and unique to her gallery. (just like her personality!)
Lexi wanted her senior pictures to highlight the things that matter most to her. And I absolutely loved that! My favorite things to include are my country roots into senior pictures so I knew we were going to have so much fun! A few of the things we incorporated included her involvement in FFA at Fillmore Central High School along with time with her cattle on the family farm near Hebron. We also took the time to snag some fun senior pictures of her with her passion for trap shooting on a gravel road as well as the usual, classic rural Nebraska scenery.
These details are what turn a regular senior session into something personal and unforgettable. I always encourage my seniors to bring props, uniforms, hobbies, and anything that helps tell their story. Lexi did that perfectly. And a bonus, her mom and I got to chit chat and catch up 😉
If you’re a senior at Fillmore Central High School, Thayer-Central, Bruning-Davenport, or any nearby high school, these towns offer incredible backdrops for country-style senior portraits.
You don’t need big city locations to create amazing photos. Around here, the farms, barns, gravel roads, and golden sunsets make the perfect setting. I’d love to find something close to home that means a lot to you to capture those fun pictures.

Beyond the beautiful images, what I’ll remember most about Lexi’s senior session is the time we spent together.
Her mom, Lexi, and I all rode around from location to location laughing, catching up on life, and making new inside jokes. At one point we even joked about how she raided the baseball snack stash in the back of my car, and I was totally ok with it. Those are the moments that make these sessions so fun and relaxed.
By the end of the evening, I felt less like a photographer and more like a family friend who just happened to have a camera along. (Which we already knew was the case) My clients turn into family and I love following them beyond their senior year, I love watching their life unfold, a lot of these seniors have so much potential and it’s a joy seeing them grow up so quickly!
Lexi’s session truly sparked my joy and reminded me why I love photographing seniors in small-town Nebraska so much.
