Mia is a senior from Norris High School who lives near Hallam. She has such an outgoing personality and you can tell it shined through during her senior pictures. For her pictures we wanted something that was both a flair of country mixed with a heavy amount of trees and nature.
What I love about Mia is that she took a lot of time choosing her outfits for her summer senior portraits. She really curated the most stunning outfits by using her colors that she had done from House of Colour and then incorporated those along with the locations she knew she wanted. We went with all things farm related and heavily mixed in nature with trees, tall grass, gravel roads and sunsets.
Our first location she choose some super cute demin shorts mixed with a fun flowy sleeved top. I’m always in love with a pop of white/cream in a super green environment so this was absolutely perfect to use with our nature filled area. I’m always a fan of white or cream colors because they’re truly neutral to almost any environment with nature and they can make your facial features pop instead of casting weird color tones.
Mia’s next outfit were these bright pink bell bottom pants mixed with a fun black top with a tie back detail. I cannot get over how much this popped with the perfect subtle lip color! And bonus, we incorporated her dad’s black felt cowboy hat to bring in a little sentimental look. So cute!! We shot most of these on the gravel road area because we wanted a more neutral toned background. Sometimes if we’re going with a statement outfit we need to make our surroundings more simplistic. You can’t tell how hot it was, but here in Nebraska our summer days mixed with humidity can be brutal. Mia nailed her pictures despite the heat!
The last outfit Mia choose for her senior pictures was a cute simple white dress that helped her stand out in the yellow flowers. Often a lot of my Nebraska seniors are wanting flower fields, and that can be tough depending on the time of year. So I do my best to include flowers when possible! For Mia that meant climbing into a dried up pond bed and fighting the bugs to snag a few shots. I’m telling you, she’s truly a trooper!! Those flowers (and her of course) look stunning!
Thank you Mia (and crew) for coming down to visit my “farm” and come hang out in the heat! It’s been nothing short of fun getting to know your family and connecting! I can’t wait to see you again this fall for your late fall senior pictures!
