Our absolute favorite things for senior sessions is tractors, puppies and sunsets. And luckily for us, a lot of our seniors love those same things here in Nebraska!! When you book your senior pictures with us, we do our best to listen to what you want from your session and pull the overall vision together. Our job is to highlight your favorite things and incorporate the “pretty” pictures your grandma wants. We truly are catering to three different audiences when it comes down to taking portraits.
Justin came to us with a very specific vision in mind, he wanted to combine his love of farm life as well as his family into his portraits, and I think we nailed that! I typically shoot our own locations but he had a sentimental farm because he has worked on this farm for years. So we hopped over to their place located near Clatonia, Nebraska and shot his senior pictures there! Justin showed us around the place and we were stunned with all the beauty the farm had to offer. Senior pictures are always best when we pick shaded places with a great view. So we did just that!
A few simple tips I recommend to my seniors and parents is to do your best to prep ahead of time and it’ll ensure we have a smooth sailing day. If we get all the decision making like outfits and locations out of the way a week ahead of time, it’ll give us ample time to prepare for the “what-if’s” that inevitably always pop up on the day of. Sometimes it’s weather related where we can’t use some locations because of mud. Sometimes, like in Justin’s case, it’s farming related. We had to adjust and move way up north by Courtland to go catch the combines and tractors out in the field. That’s the best part of being prepared and willing to make changes as needed. Just go in with an open mind and be willing to adapt.
