If there’s one thing I love most about senior sessions, it’s when seniors make it their own and Jake’s session out by his family’s farm near Guide Rock, Nebraska was exactly that. From his cowboy hat to his pickup parked out in the pasture, every part of his shoot showed off who he is and what he loves most about small-town life. Bonus, it was a beautiful drive out that way and I’m ready to go visit again soon!
Jake is a senior at Red Cloud High School. We spent the afternoon exploring the fields and pastures around his home, capturing that classic Nebraska golden light that makes farm sessions truly shine. The open skies, tall grass, and dirt roads gave us the perfect mix of rustic and timeless, exactly what I love about shooting the most!
One of my favorite parts of Jake’s session was including his horse and gear from his time riding ranch broncs and saddle broncs. It’s always so special when seniors bring along something that tells their story, and it’s clear that life in the rodeo arena has shaped who Jake is today, hardworking, humble, and tough as nails.
Between the saddle, the rope, and that natural ease around his horse, we captured a little glimpse into the heart of a true cowboy. These images feel exactly like Jake, authentic, confident, and full of small-town grit. And of course, we included Goose and Moose into a few pictures as well 😉
Of course, we couldn’t skip photos with his pickup either! Between his hat, denim, and that classic Nebraska sunset, we created the kind of portraits that perfectly fit both Jake’s personality and the landscape that raised him.

Jake, thank you (and your family!) for such a fun day out in the pasture and farm and at your place. I had the best time exploring your home turf and capturing this season of your life, your easygoing nature and connection to the “cowboy lifestyle” made this session one I’ll always remember.
This session is a perfect example of what makes small-town Nebraska senior pictures so meaningful. Whether it’s dirt roads, a trusty pickup, or the animals that are part of daily life, these are the moments worth freezing in time. This session truly lived up to “Dirt Road” Photography standards 😉
If you’re a high school senior and want to capture your senior year in a fun, meaningful way, let’s chat! Whether you want a sports-themed session, a sunset senior session, or both, I’d love to help you create images you’ll treasure forever.
