Class of 2020, your senior year is officially halfway over. This year has been less than traditional, but don’t let that rob you of all your high school memories! I promise we can maximize those “lasts” and soak up all the good things. Take your best friends out for a cruise night, play those senior pranks on your parents, stay up all night doing movie marathons with your team mates. You seriously have less than TWENTY weekends left until you graduate. Do all the things. Make all the memories.
I highly recommend all of my senior clients invest professional hair and makeup. If it is in your budget, hiring a professional for your hair and makeup will make a drastic difference in the quality of your photos and senior portrait experience. You are already making a large investment in your senior portrait experience, so why not make it the best it can be?! So, why exactly is it so important?
There are not many things in this world today that everyone will understand, such as language, dialect, and culture, with that being said there is one thing that that doesn’t matter what language you speak, or where you are from, one thing that unites us and one thing that is universal, that one thing is photography. Photography is one of the greatest forms of art in today’s world, it not only brings us together, but it tells a story, and allows us to see the world through someone else’s perspective.
Alexa attends Milford High School and will be graduating here soon with her senior class! When I asked her what her hobbies were, she told me FCCLA, FCA, being with her pets, being with family and friends, art club, working with my work kids. Basically, she’s so busy having fun, I can’t keep up with her!
My favorite part of Alli’s senior photo session was the massive amounts of laughing we had throughout the entire sesh. I was super excited to start planning Alli’s senior pictures with her, and I was happy to hear she wanted all things farm related but not over the top.
I love when I get to take pictures of the second senior in a family. It’s always fun getting to know their personality and see how each sibling is different but in so many ways the same as their older sibling. Kyle is for sure different than his older sister, Madison and getting to know him through his senior portrait session was so much fun.
One of my absolute favorite parts of photographing senior portrait sessions is getting to know the high school seniors. I love hearing all of their fears, excitements, trials and triumphs or their upcoming senior year. Sometimes it’s nice to be reminded what seniors have to go through versus what I went through my senior year. Today, seniors have so many more things on their plate and with all of the restrictions, it’s sometimes scary and overwhelming!
When I first started doing photography, I had no clue who I wanted to photography, I was like everyone else in this world, just enjoying getting to get out and go take pictures. But after almost seven years in business, I’ve found what I love the most! I found my passion is with high school seniors and capturing their stories.
